Gauging SMA connectors is an important process for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of measurements in communication systems and electronic equipment. SMA (SubMiniature version A) connectors are commonly used in radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications. That is why at Creativeit Group we have gauges available for rent.
We have the Maury A027 connector gauge kit, designed to verify the critical dimensions of the axial interface of male and female SMA connectors per MIL-C-39012, for both standard and Class 2 test connectors.
These gauge kits provide an accurate means of checking the critical interface of SMA-type connectors. The gauge sets themselves are basically dial indicator comparators, and when set to zero they will show the actual deviation from zero, which corresponds to the deviation of the outer conductor mating plane.
The gauge kits consist of one or more gauge sets and a master gauge supplied in a wooden case, A027 Series, dated August 30, 2000. All gauge parts and the master gauge are made of stainless steel and provide long-lasting characteristics with excellent dimensional stability. The measurement accuracy of these gauges is better than ±0.00025 inch, and the indicator is graduated in 0.0005 increments, providing excellent resolution.
It is important to follow the specific instructions of the VNA and calibration kit manufacturer, as procedures may vary slightly depending on the equipment used. It is also advisable to perform calibration periodically to ensure accurate measurements over time.
