REFLOW AND REBALLING REPAIR
REFLOW service.
This is a hot-air procedure that “reseats” the chips in place. Some XBOX 360 consoles and some laptops fall into this category. The most common symptom indicating a unit may be fixed with just a REFLOW is a device that works fine but, after a certain time of operation, SHUTS OFF BY ITSELF without any warning due to overheating. If the fuse is blown, before replacing it, start by measuring the diodes or the bridge rectifier. Diodes conduct current in only one direction. If they conduct in both directions when you reverse the ohmmeter leads, they are shorted and must be replaced. Never solder a wire in place of the fuse; this can cause the power supply to deteriorate even further. |
