SMA (SubMiniature version A) connectors are coaxial connectors commonly used in radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications. These connectors are small and threaded, which makes them suitable for applications that require a firm and precise connection, such as communications equipment, antennas, and measurement systems.
Using a threaded interface, 50-ohm SMA connectors are semi-precision units that deliver excellent electrical performance from DC to 34 GHz and exceptional mechanical durability.
SMA connectors feature stainless steel or brass construction and a ¼ – 36 threaded coupling, delivering high performance in a compact design.
For phased-array radars, test equipment, ILS landing systems, and other instruments that use phase-matching techniques, SMA interconnects offer an accurate and simple means of phase adjustment for microwave devices. Built in accordance with MIL-C-39012 and CECC 22110/111, SMA connectors can be mated with all connectors that meet these specification mating dimensions, regardless of manufacturer.
