Electromagnetic Characterization of Materials up to 26 GHz
At Creativeit Group we offer specialized electrical permittivity measurement and electromagnetic material characterization services using professional, high-precision microwave and radio frequency instrumentation.
Our laboratory combines vector network analyzers (VNAs), PNA analyzers, Fieldfox handheld RF analyzers and advanced software for extracting dielectric and magnetic parameters using specialized Keysight N1500A electromagnetic calculation algorithms.
We have measurement solutions for solid, liquid, semisolid and granular materials as well as composites, including applications in corrosive, abrasive and high-temperature environments thanks to specialized probes and accessories.
We also offer thermal characterization capabilities across a wide temperature range using specialized environmental chambers: from -78 °C to +300 °C. We also have various vacuum and pressure chambers.
These platforms make it possible to perform dielectric and electromagnetic analysis under controlled thermal conditions for research, validation and advanced industrial testing.

Electromagnetic Properties We Measure
We measure and produce specialized technical reports on:
Dielectric Properties
-
Real relative permittivity (εr’)
-
Imaginary relative permittivity (εr”)
-
Dielectric loss tangent (tan δ)
-
Cole-Cole modeling
-
Effective conductivity
-
Frequency-dependent characterization
Magnetic Properties
-
Real relative permeability (μr’)
-
Imaginary relative permeability (μr”)
-
Magnetic loss tangent (tan δμ)
Our analyses determine the electromagnetic behavior of materials used in RF, microwave, telecommunications, advanced electronics, automotive, aerospace and scientific research applications.
Available Measurement Methods
Transmission Line Method
The sample is placed inside a coaxial line or rectangular waveguide to obtain accurate measurements of electromagnetic parameters.
This method is ideal for:
-
Technical ceramics
-
Polymers
-
Composite materials
-
Ferrites
-
High-precision machined materials
The technique offers excellent repeatability and accuracy when samples are manufactured to controlled dimensions.
Free Space Method
The free space method uses two antennas to measure materials without direct physical contact.
It is especially useful for:
-
RF absorbing panels
-
Large materials
-
Aerospace composites
-
Granular materials
-
EMI/RFI absorbing foams
This technique enables non-invasive measurements and evaluates materials under conditions similar to their real operating environment.
Coaxial Probe Method
The coaxial probe method works with the Keysight 85070E and Keysight 85070C systems, enabling fast, non-destructive measurements.
The probe can be inserted directly into:
-
Liquids
-
Oils
-
Resins
-
Gels
-
Semisolid materials
-
Chemical solutions
Advantages of the Method
-
Real-time measurement
-
High acquisition speed
-
No complex preparation required
-
Non-destructive testing
-
Excellent repeatability
Parallel Plate Method
Also known as the three-terminal method under ASTM D150, it consists of placing a thin sample between two electrodes to form a measurement capacitor.
From the measured capacitance and dissipation factor, the software calculates:
-
Electrical permittivity
-
Loss tangent
-
Frequency-dependent dielectric properties
It is ideal for:
-
Dielectric films
-
Laminates
-
Thin materials
-
Insulating liquids
-
Low-frequency materials
Sample Thickness Calculation
Our specialized software calculates the recommended sample thickness based on:
-
Measurement frequency
-
Estimated permittivity
-
Material type
-
Test method
This optimizes the accuracy and reliability of experimental results.
