Relative humidity directly alters the surface and volume resistivity of materials, charge accumulation, the rate of electrostatic dissipation and the energy associated with ESD events. For this reason, we offer ESD testing and resistivity characterization under fully controlled conditions.
Our system, integrated with the EC01 environmental chamber, the ETS 514 controller and the 5472-NP humidifier, makes it possible to set a stable environment for testing per ASTM D257, ANSI/ESD STM11.11, STM11.12, STM11.13, ESD TR53 and other applicable methods. Here we measure surface and volume resistivity, decay times, residual potential, induced charge and dissipation levels.
In addition, we correlate the effect of humidity with advanced electrical parameters using impedance analyzers, LCR meters, high-precision multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and equipment for characterizing liquid and solid materials through permittivity, loss tangent or permeability. This makes it possible to determine not only whether a material meets an ESD classification, but how its behavior changes under critical environmental variations.
This service is requested for polymeric materials, dissipative coatings, packaging, mats, textiles, sensitive electronic devices and electronics manufacturing components. We deliver reports with traceability, comparative curves and photographic evidence of the entire process.
