Accelerometers and Sensors

Accelerometers, charge and CCLD sensors, amplifiers and signal conditioners for rent or sale in Monterrey, Mexico. Brüel & Kjær and PCB.

Accelerometers and Sensors

We offer accelerometers of different types for sale or rental. We also have amplifiers and signal conditioners for accelerometers.

Accelerometers are sensors that use a system made up of a mass and a spring to generate a force proportional to a vibration. They are used in numerous testing and research applications. Brüel & Kjær charge and CCLD sensors incorporate ICP©, DeltaTron™ and TEDS, PCB technology to simplify setup and deliver consistent measurements. They are highly adaptable and are available in uniaxial and triaxial versions. Contact your local Brüel & Kjær sales representative or keep reading to learn more about our different types of accelerometers and the specifications you should consider when choosing one.

What is an accelerometer?

An accelerometer is an electromechanical transducer that, when subjected to acceleration, produces a proportional electrical output at its terminals. That output signal can be processed electronically and read with a meter or other suitable indicating device.

The active element of Brüel & Kjær accelerometers consists of a series of piezoelectric discs or plates that are loaded by seismic masses, with a clamping system that holds the assembly in position.

Piezoelectric elements produce an electric charge proportional to the applied force. When the accelerometer is subjected to vibration, the combined seismic mass exerts a varying force on the piezoelectric element, proportional to the acceleration of the seismic masses.
